IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The countdown to the 40th edition of Ontario’s most storied high school football championship is on. Football Ontario and Football Toronto are proud to launch “Metro Bowl Month”, a celebration of grit, tradition, and rising talent that will crown the next Metro Bowl Champion.

Powered by an all-star lineup of partners — NFL Canada, the Toronto Argonauts, the Buffalo Bills, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues Football, the Argonauts Alumni, Area51 Sports, and TYSN — this year’s festival shines a spotlight on athletic excellence, community pride, and the future leaders of Canadian football.

Four Decades of Friday Night Legends

Since 1982, the Metro Bowl has been the gold standard of high school football in the GTA — from the first classic matchup between St. Michael’s College and Woburn Collegiate to today’s province-wide showcase featuring champions from TDSSAA, TDCAA, ROPSSAA, and LOSSAA. It’s where rivalries are forged, stars are born, and Ontario football history is made.

A New Era with the Buffalo Bills

With the Buffalo Bills joining as a major partner in 2025, the Metro Bowl experience enters a new era. Their support elevates the event’s legacy with exclusive player activations, coaching clinics, and fan experiences that bridge the passion of Ontario football with the energy of the NFL.

Schedule

All games will take place at the historic Varsity Centre and St. Michael’s College:

Thursday, November 13th , 2025

  • 11:00 AM – AAA 905 Bowl (ROPSSAA vs LOSSAA)
  • 2:00 PM – AAA Toronto Bowl (TDSSAA vs TDCAA)

Tuesday, November 18th, 2025

  • 2:00 PM – AAA Junior Toronto Bowl (TDSSAA vs TDCAA)

Wednesday, November 19th , 2025

  • 9:00 AM – AA Varsity Toronto Bowl (Tier 2)
  • 11:00 AM – All-Star Showcase (student-athletes from all partner associations)
  • 2:00 PM – 40th Metro Bowl Championship (AAA 905 Bowl winner vs AAA Toronto Bowl winner)

This year’s Metro Bowl Festival brings together the very best of high school football across the G.T.A. — a showcase of skill, school pride, and unrelenting competition, all building toward one defining moment: the crowning of the 2025 Metro Bowl Champion.

What to Expect

This isn’t just championship football, it’s a full-scale celebration of the game.
Hosted at the University of Toronto’s Varsity Centre, the festival will deliver unforgettable moments on and off the field.

Fans can expect hands-on experiences from NFL Canada, the Buffalo Bills, and the Toronto Argonauts, with interactive activations that bring the energy of professional football straight to the high-school stage — from skills challenges and fan zones to giveaways, photo ops, and appearances by football greats.

Every detail has been designed for excellence. Area51 Sports provides the official game balls and custom All-Star Showcase jerseys, setting the stage for every athlete to compete with pride, passion, and professionalism.

And for those cheering from afar, TYSN will livestream all six games on YouTube, capturing every drive, tackle, and touchdown for audiences across Ontario and beyond.

Powered by Partners Who Believe in the Game

This festival is made possible through the leadership of Football Ontario, the province’s official governing body for high-school football, and Football Toronto, a volunteer-driven organization committed to uniting and growing the sport across the city.

Our partners, NFL Canada, the Toronto Argonauts, the Buffalo Bills, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, the Toronto Argonauts Alumni, Area51 Sports, and TYSN, bring their networks, resources, and unmatched passion to elevate Metro Bowl Month into a transformational experience for players, coaches, and families alike.

We’re calling on schools, fans, families, and media to be part of the action.
Show up. Cheer loud. Share the story. Celebrate the next generation of champions who define what Ontario football is all about.
